Style: by Occasion

Though we are most certainly strong advocates of the motto “in case of doubt, overdress,” we also know that there are certain exemptions to this rule. However, while being overdressed could perhaps lead to a slightly uncomfortable feeling, the repercussions are minor. Being underdressed, on the other hand, will inevitably lead to an array of unfortunate things: awkward feelings, depreciatory looks, the appearance of a lack of manners, and a strain on your reputation, just to name a few.

In western society, the rules regarding dress codes have been somewhat watered down over the years. The strict set of rules once known to this society have been constantly adjusted and altered with each new generation. As a result, people all over the world feel unsure about what expressions like “black tie” or “business casual” actually mean. So, it is time to clean out the closet a little…

In general, there are three different spheres we want to talk about: evening attire, business attire, and casual. Within these three arenas, we identified the following dress codes:
